Gary M. Goldberg
Founder and Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Goldberg is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Gary Goldberg Financial Services. As founder and leader of the firm, Mr. Goldberg is the main driving force behind their investment strategy and policy.  He is a member of both the firm’s Executive Committee and the Strategic Investment Committee.  Prior to forming GGFS in 1972, Mr. Goldberg had a successful career as an institutional trader on Wall Street.  Since then, he has built the firm bearing his name into one of the premier full-service Investment Management Firms in the Hudson Valley Region.

In addition to serving as the firm’s CEO, Mr. Goldberg also hosts his long running financial radio talk show, Money Matters.  As host of Money Matters, Mr. Goldberg is able to personally interview some of today’s most influential political and business leaders, giving him a unique advantage to gain first-hand insight into their thoughts and feeling about current market and socio-economic conditions.

Mr. Goldberg earned his bachelors degree from Bard College and attended Brooklyn Law School. Additionally, over the course of his professional career, Mr. Goldberg has served on the following boards:

Board of Directors NYC Fire Department – Educational Fund 9/11/01; Nyack Hospital, where he was Head of the Investment Committee for 6 years; Mercy College, where he was Head of the Investment Committee for 4 years; Executive Vice President of International Association of Financial Planners of Westchester and Rockland County; member of the Board of Trustees at Bard College Center, which also named its Computer Center after Mr. Goldberg; Board of Directors United Way of Rockland; Board of Directors American Cancer Society of Rockland County; Board of Directors American Heart Association of Rockland County; Man of the Year – Mercy College. Moreover, he is the author of “High Powered Investing” and has been a frequent guest on CNBC’s Squawk Box.

William J. Krivicich
CFA, Chief Investment Officer

In a career spanning over 15 years, Mr. Krivicich has become one of the most respected and recognized portfolio managers and Chief Investment Officers among his peers. Mr. Krivicich is the Chief Investment Officer of Gary Goldberg Financial Services, where he heads the firm’s Strategic Investment Committee and serves on the firm’s Executive Committee.  Under his guidance, GGFS has been recognized as one of the premier boutique money management firms in the nation. As Chief Investment Officer and head of the firms Strategic Investment Committee, Mr. Krivicich leads the firm’s portfolio management team and research team in developing portfolios based on the Strategic Investment Committee’s overall macro-economic views. Moreover, as CIO, he is responsible for overseeing the firms security selection process and its related due diligence process. Separately, Mr. Krivicich is a Managing Partner and the Chief Investment Officer at Montebello Partners, LLC, an institutional asset management firm focused on managing institutional and mutual fund portfolios. Additionally, he is a founding member of Legacy Benefit Assurance Agency, LLC, a highly specialized insurance agency.

 Separately, Mr. Krivicich serves as Vice President, Investment Consultant for Gary Goldberg Financial Services. This added responsibility allows Mr. Krivicich to have direct interaction with the firm’s clients, which in turn promotes better understanding of their needs.

 Mr. Krivicich earned his Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Finance from the State University of New York at New Paltz. In addition, he has earned the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst designation, one of the most distinguished and highly regarded accreditations in the financial services industry.


Oliver Pursche
President

Oliver Pursche is the President of Gary Goldberg Financial Services. He is also a member of the firms’ Executive Committee and Investment Committee, as well as a member of the Board of Directors. Mr Pursche is a tri-lingual financial services executive with over 20 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Gary Goldberg Financial Services, Mr. Pursche worked for venerable firms like Neuberger Berman and PaineWebber. He combines is practical experience with a strong academic background holding an undergraduate degree from Bentley University and having taken graduate level courses at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business. In February 2013 he published his first book “Immigrants: Unleashing the Economic Force at our Door”. Mr. Pursche is viewed as a thought leader in the investment management community, being a frequent guest on CNBC, Bloomberg Television and Fox Business News. Additionally, he writes weekly columns for The Wall Street Journal MarketWatch, TheStreet.com, Forbes.com as well as Minyanville.com. Mr. Pursche lives in Fairfield, CT with his wife and two dogs. He is a member of the New York City Ballet Serenade Society, as well as a member of the advisory board of the Cherie Blair Foundation, which focuses on working with women entrepreneurs around the world.

Jannine M. Barbosa
Chief Operating Officer

Jannine Barbosa is the Chief Operating Officer for Gary Goldberg Financial Services. In this role she oversees the general company operations, accounting, and compliance functions and works closely with the CEO, Gary M. Goldberg.

Jannine's previous experience was with Manufacturers and Traders Trust Company, as a senior customer service representative. Her career with Gary Goldberg Financial Services began in 1999 as an assistant to the Portfolio Services Analyst. In late 2003, she attained compliance responsibilities and was promoted to Chief Compliance Officer in 2006. In 2008 Jannine was promoted to her current Chief Operating Officer role and became a member of the company’s Executive Committee.

Jannine is primarily responsible for the oversight of operations for both broker-dealer and investment advisory activities, ensuring that proper procedures are developed and executed from both business and compliance standpoints. Her role includes designing and overseeing additions and modifications to the companies' procedures as part of a continual process of self-assessment and improvement.

Jannine holds a Bachelor of Science degree, with a concentration in Finance, from the State University of New York at Oswego, and Series 7, 24, and 66 FINRA registrations. She resides in Orange County, New York.

 


 

Richard T. Kersting
Senior Vice President

Having spent nearly 23 years working with individual and institutional clients, Mr. Kersting has developed an acumen for helping clients understand their needs and developing investment solutions on their behalf. Mr. Kersting is the Senior Vice President of Gary Goldberg Financial Services and is a key member of the firms Executive Committee and Strategic Investment Committee. Due to his extensive experience in the financial services industry, Mr. Kersting also heads up the firms mentorship program where he is in charge of developing “young talent”.  Separately, Mr. Kersting is a founding member, co-portfolio manager, and Managing Partner of Montebello Partners, LLC, an institutional asset management firm focused on managing institutional and mutual fund portfolios. Additionally, he is the General Partner and co-founder of Legacy Benefit Assurance Agency, LLC, a highly specialized insurance agency.

 Prior to joining Gary Goldberg Financial Services in 2005, Mr. Kersting was a branch manager for several NYSE Member firms. Mr. Kersting earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and Economics from the State University of New York at Albany. He lives in Orange County, New York with his wife and 3 sons, where he is a very active member of his community and serves on the boards of local non profit organizations.


Peter J. D. Dedel
Vice President, Portfolio Manager

Mr. Dedel is the Vice-President, Portfolio Manager of Gary Goldberg Financial Services. Mr. Dedel serves on the firm's Strategic Investment Committee. He joined GGFS in 1979 and became the firm's head trader in 1984. He is responsible for day-to-day operations and supervision of the firm's trading activity, including execution of all option, debt and direct equity transactions. Mr. Dedel offers a daily market update segment on the Money Matters radio program, hosted by Mr. Goldberg.

Prior to his career in Financial Services, Mr. Dedel worked at the prestigious Carnegie Hall Corporation. He. Earned his Bachelor's Degree at Lehigh University, and holds two Master's Degrees from Columbia University.

 

 

INVESTMENT CONSULTANTS


James V. Loehle
Vice President, Investment Consultant

Mr. Loehle began his career in financial services 25 years ago, coaching investment professionals on various investment strategies and industry developments. In his previous career, Mr. Loehle was heavily involved in the marketing of the Rochester Municipal Bond fund - a long-time favorite investment choice of seniors. During this time, Mr. Loehle witnessed first hand the mistakes that many investors and some investment professionals make time and time again.

Based on his experiences as a keynote speaker at several hundred seminars, coupled with the personal experiences working with other financial professionals, Mr. Loehle chose to take the next step in his career by joining Gary Goldberg Financial Services ("GGFS") in 2007.

Predicated on the belief that being independent allows him to better serve his clients' needs, Mr. Loehle focuses on finding investment solutions for retirement-aged investors who are concerned with outliving their assets.

In his capacity as Vice President, Investment Consultant, Mr. Loehle utilizies his strong communication and analytical skills to determine a suitable course of action for clients. Working closely with memebers of the GGFS' Strategic Investment Committee, Mr. Loehle develops customized solutions focused on tax efficiency and long-held investment principles.


W. Raymond Stine, Jr.
Senior Investment Consultant

Ray Stine joined Gary Goldberg Financial Services in 1988, after a distinguished career in upper management at NYTEL (now known as Verizon). Mr Stine's personal experiences of the retirement process proved to be the catalyst to start a second career as a financial consultant. Mr. Stine became a client of Gary Goldberg Financial Services during his own retirement process, which made him particularly aware of the challenges retirees and soon-to-be-retired people face.

Predicated on the belief that investor education is the key to building lasting and successful relationships with clients, Mr. Stine focuses on explaining the retire investment management process to clients and prospective clients. In his efforts to ensure that all parties fully understand the intricacies of this process, Mr. Stine works closely with Estate Planning Attorneys and Accountants.

In his youth, Mr. Stine served as a US Air Force Navigator during World War II, where he served on board a B-17 Bomber. Mr. Stine has a bachelors degree in Architectural Engineering from Ohio University, and is a graduate of Executive Management Program at the University of Virginia.


Amit Chopra
Senior Investment Consultant

Mr. Chopra began his career with Gary Goldberg Financial Services ("GGFS") in 2006 as a sales intern. From there, he quickly moved through the company to become the youngest Investment Consultant in the firm's mentorship program. Having an economics and finance background helps Mr. Chopra work closely with the firm's Strategic Investment Committee to develop customized solutions for the firms' clients'.

As an investment consultant Mr. Chopra is primarily focused on providing a level of service normally not seen in the finance industry. By developing trusting, and long lasting relationships with clients, Mr. Chopra helps provide the support, guidance, and reasurrance that many seniors need, especially as retirement nears.

Working closely with members of the Strategic Investment Committee and his mentor, Mr. Chopra is able to present portfolios that utilize a long term investment approach coupled with the personalized service that help clients accomplish their goals.

Separately, Mr. Chopra works closely with the Volunteer Action Center of Rockland County, where he particularly enjoys his work in pet therapy with residents of local assisted living facility.


Christopher Hanly
Investment Consultant

Mr. Hanly began his career in financial services in 2006 as a junior analyst within Citigroup's Corporate and Investment Banking Division. This early exposure to the global markets provided Mr. Hanly with a sound understanding of the suitability standard associated with investment decisions.

In 2008, Mr. Hanly joined the Consumer Finance Group at Wells Fargo. With an emphasis on client relationship management, it was here that Mr. Hanly developed as an industry professional and was able to grasp the core needs of the individual investor. These experiences laid the groundwork for the commencement of Mr. Hanly's career with Gary Goldberg Financial Services in 2010.

As an Investment Consultant, Mr. Hanly is committed to providing an added level of client service not typically seen in the finance industry. Working closely with members of the GGFS Strategic Investment Committee, Mr. Hanly is able to present portfolios which utilize a long term investment approach coupled with the personalized service that help clients accomplish their goals.

Mr. Hanly holds a Bachelors of Business Administration with a focus in Finance and Marketing from Hofstra University. In addition to his studies and banking internships, Mr. Hanly was a full scholarship athlete and 4 year member of the football team. His dedication on and off the field was noticed by the National Football League (NFL) making Mr. Hanly a key prospect in 2007-2008.


Tyler Palumbo
Associate Investment Consultant

Tyler Palumbo started his financial services career in 2007 at quantitative trading and technology firm Susquehanna International Group. As an operations associate, Mr. Palumbo developed an understanding of how the effective use of investment tools can successfully impact a client's bottom line. This early exposure to capital markets helped Mr. Palumbo recognize the importance of attention to detail and inspired him to pursue a role where he can implement sound and secure financial plans on a more personal level.

Mr. Palumbo joined Gary Goldberg Financial Services in 2010 as an Associate Investment Consultant because of its regional credibility, investment management process, and tradition of top tier client service.

Mr. Palumbo believes that introducing committed investors to the advantages of professional financial advice is the cornerstone of building a successful client relationship in today's dynamic economic environment. Working closely with the members of the GGFS Strategic Investment Committee, Mr. Palumbo is able to identify clients' investment goals and objectives while articulating customized portfolio solutions that focus on risk management and tax-efficiency.

.Mr. Palumbo holds a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration with a minor in Economics from Bucknell University. In addition to his participation in campus clubs and various community service projects, Mr. Palumbo was a member of Kappa Delta Rho fraternity, I-AA football program, and 4 year member of the Bison Track & Field team. He is also an alumni of Don Bosco Prep High School.


Heidi Scali
Associate Investment Consultant

Mrs. Scali is a long standing client and now an Associate Investment Consultant with Gary Goldberg Financial Services. She started her career in financial services with Bear Sterns as a part of their management training program in international equity settlements. Mrs. Scali also had the pleasure of working for U.S. government bond dealer and options trading firm, Chicago Research and Trading, in the capacity of trader's assistant. However, it wasn't until she earned the opportunity to work as a portfolio manager assistant / trader for a local advisory firm that she developed the passion and understanding for helping others meet their financial goals through the use of sound practices and excellent customer relations. Mrs. Scali holds a Bachelors of Science in Finance from Syracuse University.

Mrs. Scali's professional focus is on helping investors, particularly women, develop a level of comfort and understanding of our firm's investment process and the sound financial principles upon which it is built. She had the valuable experience of living in Europe for five and a half years with her husband, Vincent. Not only did she learn to embrace the unique nuances associated with the many different cultures that she encountered but she also started her family while overseas. Her and her husband now live along the scenic Hudson River in Garrison, NY with their four daughters, Megan, Emma, Kristin and Hanna, their boxer, Harley, and five chickens.


Thomas Cortese
Senior Investment Consultant

Tom Cortese joined Gary Goldberg Financial Services as a Senior Investment Consultant, after being a client for many years. Mr. Cortese primarily works with individual clients to help them define their investment objectives and financial goals and to choose the appropriate investment vehicles to meet their needs. Mr. Cortese also works with small and mid-sized business owners by helping them set up and administer company retirement plans.

Mr. Cortese brings a unique blend of analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills to the challenge of developing and implementing financial solutions that address the investment management needs to clients. Additionally, Tom is an occasional guest speaker at various investment and financial planning seminars.

Before joining Gary Goldberg Financial Services, Mr. Cortese was a managing partner of a prestigious marketing and event management firm. Prior to his entrepreneurial career, Mr. Cortese worked as a Senior Marketing Executive for AT&T.

Mr. Cortese earned his Masters of Business Administration at Fairleigh Dickinson University. He holds the following NASD registrations: Series 6, Series 7, Series 63, and Series 65 securities registrations as well as Life, Accident and Health and Variable Annuity Insurance licenses.

 

 

Investor Services Representatives
Our dedicated Investor Services Representatives are the backbone of our service efforts. The ISR group is often the main point of contact for our clients when they need preliminary account information or require other operations related services. Ida Enander, Melissa Fitzgerald, Gina Nielson, Oksana Kavka, Bette-Ellen Sewell, Farah Pierre, Beth Erben and the rest of the team are committed to providing every client of Gary Goldberg Financial Services "best in class" client services.


Investment Management
Comprised of some of the brightest and most tireless individuals who work for our organization, the Investment Management team is focused on providing the members of the Strategic Investment Committee timely research and data to help them manage our client portfolios. Eric Rossman, Johann Lepasana and Peter Dedel are led by our Chief Investment Officer, Bill Krivicich, and are at the core of our market and economic research effort.


Operations Department
The Gary Goldberg Financial Services Operations team is led by our Chief Operating Officer, Jannine Barbosa. Amy Bolognese, Brian Barbosa, Anthony Caputo and the rest of the team are the glue that holds our company together. This group is in charge of ensuring that our various policies and procedures are functioning properly, as well as coordinating various data streams with our outside vendors.


Compliance Department
Our Compliance Department is head up by Thomas Cattani, Esq., who serves as the firms Chief Compliance Officer. He, along with John Caputo and their team assists our investment consultants and the Investor Services team in making sure all client communications are clear, concise, accurate and reflect all the relevant information and investor needs to make an appropriate decision regarding the proposed investments. Moreover, the compliance team ensures that everyone in the firm is up-to-date on their continuing education requirements, new rules and regulations as well as firm policies, all of which are designed to ensure to protect and serve investors.


Sales / Marketing
There are many other dedicated and wonderful people who work for our organization. Oliver Pursche heads up our seminar marketing department, while Stephanie Olson and Brian Barbosa are focused on keeping our website, blogs and social media presence up-to-date and accurate. In addition, our wonderful interns are a great resource and we hope that the skills they are learning at Gary Goldberg Financial Services will help them identify a career path.
